ANU Florey Building

Quattro was responsible for delivering renovation works on the ANU Medical School building. This building is referred to as one of the first major buildings constructed by the ANU, which was opened in 1958. This renovation was unique in that because of the age of the building, we had to custom make and fit a lot of our components.

Key items included:

  • Fabricating timber jamb sets to match exiting brick rendered walls with large variations in width

  • Machining architraves and skirtings to match existing structures

  • Retrofitting aluminium glazing and door frames with timber reveals to existing rendered openings

  • The installation of a fire rated ceiling to the upper level including adding additional timber and steel bracing to exiting roof structure to cope with the weight of the new system

  • Involvement involved in the construction of the custom feature artwork in the hallways
